EXPLORE MY WRITING

During 20 years of writing professionally, I've seen my byline on more than 300 articles. The small collection here emphasizes both variety in publication type and topic. My true passion when it comes to writing leans to using narrative non-fiction to help people think critically about and connect more intimately with themselves, others, and the larger world around them. 

I've won multiple awards for my stories, including First Place Excellence in Journalism Awards in both Education and Health Reporting from the Colorado Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, as well as a First Place AltWeekly Award in Breaking News for my contributions to the Colorado Springs Independent's coverage of the Waldo Canyon Fire from the Association of Alternative Newsmedia. One of my biggest honors was receiving the 2011 GLBTA Community Award for a reporter with a print publication from the Colorado Springs Pride Center.
